About us
The Yarras history dates back to the 19th Century, but it wasn't until the early 1970s when the Windsor and South Yarra Cricket Clubs merged to create South Yarra Cricket Club as it exists today.
Our home ground is at the beautiful Como Park on the corner of Alexandra Ave and Williams Road, South Yarra.
Recently our ground was redeveloped with an amazing drainage system so that it is now one of the few grounds that can get up after a typical Melbourne downpour.
Our ground has two turf cricket wickets and three to six turf wickets for practice. It also includes floodlights, BBQ area, basketball half court, playground and outdoor exercise equipment.
If you need to get public transport to Como the nearest public transport services are:
-
Bus route 605 along Bruce Street.
-
Tram route 58 along Toorak Road.
Our clubhouse (Como Pavillion) has slowly improved over the many years so that it is now one of the best in Melbourne. Our change rooms are large and on the first floor and the balcony level is a brilliant space for watching the cricket or hosting social events, with a licensed bar on the second level.
All our teams play in the Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA). Each year we nominate five to six teams and these range from A Grade to D Grade so that we can cater for all levels of cricket.
Currently we don't have a girls or woman’s team, but we are open to the prospect if enough numbers show interest.

We hope to see you at The Yarras!
